Being part of a community is central to Wake Up and there are many ways to connect, support and contribute. We rely on and deeply appreciate the inspiration, energy and talents of our volunteers. By giving us your time and energy, you’re making a real and valuable contribution to our vision of a grassroots community of youth practising mindfulness for a healthy and compassionate society.
Volunteering with Wake Up UK is to bring our mindfulness practice into service for the community, our society and the planet. As part of the community, you bring your unique inspiration, energy and talents into forming the many ways in wish we express our common aspiration to transform our society into a healthy and compassionate one.
Volunteering doesn’t just mean following instructions or getting stuff done – it means working together in the spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood, and to support each other’s aspirations and practice, using the Five Mindfulness Trainings at the heart of everything we do.

A great way to get involved with Wake Up UK is to start practising with a local community and to attend a mindfulness retreat in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. Find out where your local Wake Up community is or the nearest community for all ages, and check out our events page for upcoming retreats.
